My name is Antoinette Dyson.
Born and raised in Chicago Illinois, I began my fitness journey early in life. I saw fitness as a means of maintaining a healthy weight, but it had to be enjoyable. I sought to combine fitness with music whenever possible.
A cheerleader by the third grade, I spent four years training and dancing in my high school dance troupe. During that same period, I was twirling a baton as a high stepping majorette in front of a marching band. I spent hours training and learning new routines weekly.
While pursuing a Business Arts degree at Loyola University I discovered Pilates and began to understand the benefits of incorporating core work and stretching into my fitness routines.
When I was relocated to the state of Kansas in pursuit of a corporate career, Step Aerobics was all the rage. The combination of great music and complicated steps was perfect for me. I added Step Aerobics classes to my fitness routine, attending three to four times a week.
It was during this time that I decided to try a beginner Yoga class. I was hooked on Yoga after the first class. Initially it seemed to be a great compliment to the Pilates classes I had continued to take. As I took part in the classes each week I realized that Yoga offers so much more than physical exercise. Yoga became a staple in my fitness routine.
When Zumba became the new dance fitness craze, I was encouraged by my sister to try it. In no time Zumba took the place of Step Aerobics in my fitness routine. I decided to become a Zumba instructor in 2013.
In 2015 I became an Aqua Fitness Instructor.
Now a Group Fitness Trainor, I loved choreographing my classes to accommodate any fitness level. I continued to attend Yoga classes, trying different styles of Yoga.
I became a Yoga Teacher (RYT200) in January 2021. I am currently pursuing a 300 Hour Yoga Teacher Certification.
My desire is to help others realize that Yoga is for "EVERY" body. I want to share my love of Yoga and I want to help others experience the effective relaxation and reduction of stress brought about by this practice of poses and breathing techniques.
